LIFT Project

We are very excited to announce that General Motors is sponsoring its first Asian American STEM incentive program with a focus on Southeast Asian middle and high school students.

The APIASF – Asian & Pacific Islander American Scholarship Fund and WWAAC – Who’s Who in Asian American Communities – are partnering on this project titled – Leaders Innovating Future Technology or “LIFT”.

LIFT is open to everyone but with a focus for Southeast Asians and women.  All underserved minorities are eligible to compete for scholarship prizes.

Middle and high school students in teams of 4 are encouraged to submit a proposal that highlights “Future Mobility-2080.” The competition focus areas are on innovations in autonomous driving, mechanical, digital and design, and other STEM areas.  Student proposals should outline a project that moves them towards the vision of that future technology, and accepted student projects should demonstrate their process using STEM skills.

The LIFT Project will include outreach, scholarships, mentoring sessions with GM Innovation Center leaders, Academicians, Community Leaders and Corporate Sponsors and participation at the annual 2018 WAAAC Conference and 2018 Awards events.
