Get jazzy next month when the Atlanta Jazz Festival kicks-off its “40 Days of Jazz events” to celebrate its 40th anniversary of showcasing jazz music and culture to the city of Atlanta. These events will occur all over the city and will begin on April 21 with an art gallery opening at Arnika Dawkins Gallery from 7 – 9 p.m. The opening will feature a 40th anniversary coffee table book featuring photos from past years of the Atlanta Jazz Festival and is available for purchase on atlantafestivals.com.

Free 40 Days of Jazz events include MARTA Mondays with performances at various MARTA stations and a Neighborhood Jazz Series, where live jazz music will be performed in neighborhoods throughout Atlanta. There also will be an International Jazz Day concert at Chastain Park Amphitheatre on April 30 and a Cool Jazz Pool Party at Piedmont Park’s Aquatic Station on May 25. Tickets for the International Jazz Day Concert can be purchased on Ticketmaster. All events will lead up to the FREE 3-day Atlanta Jazz Festival on Memorial Day weekend, May 26 – 28 at Piedmont Park.
