Miss Hokusai to Screen at Midtown Arts Cinema on October 21st!

GKIDS has a new film called Miss Hokusai, which will be opening at the Landmark Midtown Art on October 21st. It tells the story of O-Ei, the eldest daughter of the famous artist Hokusai, who was a talented painter in her own right but always remained in the shadow of her father. We wanted to bring the film to your attention as we think it may be of interest to your community. Not only is the story deeply rooted in Japan’s history and culture, but the film will largely be screened in Japanese with English subtitles. The film was made by the world-class studio Production I.G., who produced Ghost in the Shell, and was directed by Keiichi Hara, best known for his renowned film Colorful.
