Bullying in Japanese Schools

Bullying always seems to be a problem in Japanese schools. A recent survey states that from April to September, there were more than 140,000 instances of bullying reported, over 250 of which were deemed “serious”. This is nearly double the number of instances recorded in 2011!

The problem of bullying in Japanese schools does not seem to be going away anytime soon, so now courts and the municipal government have stated they will begin to examine cases of “serious” bullying and intervene as they see fit.
